The recent Philippine Starball 2010 competition showcased the world's best ballroom dancers from all over the world. Many thanks to Carlo Villongco for allowing moi to post some the highlights I captured for you to see and enjoy here. This is my third outing with Carlo-gracias amigo! On this prestigious event, I dread minor costume malfunction like flying beads and semi-precious stones (of varying sizes and cuts) whipping past my precious Nikon DSLR. Helpful camera accessories like my monopod and a small camper chair helped moi endure this whole day affair. During competition, the no-flash policy is in effect. As your dance-sport photog, the Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 became my favorite glass for this very claustophobic dance competition-as several pairs share the floor simultaneously-whew! Congratulations to the organizers, participants and winners! Our Philippines is now on the map of international ballroom competition once again.
